Parent information

GT AWARENESS
The GT Awareness materials below are for parents and teachers interested in nominating a student for GT testing. These are NOT for existing ALPHA students. Parents, it is highly recommended that you consult with the classroom teacher before beginning the nomination process. Teachers, please discuss potential nominations you may have with parents. Each of you has great insight and will be part of the extended process.
All kindergarten students are screened for the program at the campus level using planned experiences, which include critical & creative thinking, problem solving, as well as classroom teacher observations. Nominations are due in November. Formal assessment of nominated kindergarten students occurs in January.
